Reed Smith partner Kevin Madagan and associate Julia Lake will return for a second year to help lead a four-hour “Ad Promo Primer” at the Drug Information Association (DIA)’s “Advertising and Promotion Regulatory Affairs Conference,” which will be held virtually May 18-20, 2020. In addition, Kevin, a member of this year’s planning committee, will be leading a DIA discussion about pricing disclosures and communications.
DIA’s annual conference brings together industry and government representatives to generally explore the current state of compliance for marketing both biopharmaceuticals and medical devices. It is geared towards both early and late-career professionals with content that advances the understanding of current regulatory policies, details the latest strategies for effective patient engagement, and discusses the trends in advertising for biopharmaceuticals, combo products and companion diagnostics.
The Ad Promo Primer, which begins a day before DIA’s conference begins, is designed for regulatory, legal, medical, compliance, or marketing professionals, or for anyone else in the field of prescription drugs and medical device product promotion. Participants in the 2020 Ad Promo Primer are able to choose a drug/biologic or medical device track and may even switch between tracks throughout the day. This flexibility and expanded offering is designed to allow for more nuanced discussions about promotional standards, tactics, execution, and enforcement. The Ad Promo Primer will be interesting, practical, and vital for those new to the field as well as experienced professionals who are seeking a refresher.
